Class Name: Mental Health Training for Jailers
Class Description: This course is designed to help the student gain an understanding of mental impairments and their impact within the jail system; to gain an understanding of constructive techniques utilized when communicating in a time of crisis in a jail setting; to be able to identify local resources and partnerships to assist with individuals in crisis and in need of supportive services; and to be able to utilize the screening tool for identification of suicide risk and the questions and actions necessary when an individual is identified as a suicide risk.
