Class Name: Covert Surveillance
Class Description: This course is designed to meet the intermediate needs of Law Enforcement personnel who are assigned or wish to transfer to a Pro-active, Tactical, Investigative or Undercover position. By design, it’s a preparatory course with the content arranged to achieve the maximum student orientation of the fundamental duties of surveillance. This course will provide basic background information on surveillance operations to include: stationary, rolling, foot, electronic and aerial. This training will also familiarize the students with proper documentation of surveillance with primary focus on officer safety. This course, along with the field experience, will elevate participants who are currently assigned or anticipating a future assignment in an Investigative or Undercover Unit. Supervisory personnel are also encouraged to attend in order to have a better understanding of surveillance operations, to better manage and assist their personnel. This course will establish a better working relationship between individuals working in Patrol and Investigative Units. Finally, this course will prepare the students for the next level training which will be an “Advanced Mobile Surveillance Course.”
Requirements: This program is designed for any law enforcement personnel, who has been recently assigned or wishes to be transferred to a Pro-Active, Tactical, Investigative or Undercover Unit in the near future.
